Reactor Control

Summary

Even if you try to stabilize the internal temperature of the tank, correction of temperature takes time due to the inflow of materials at different temperatures and changes in water pressure which make the temperature unstable.

To secure a highly stable inner tank temperature, it is necessary to control the balance between water temperature and water tank temperature. This is called cascade control. Usually, when doing cascade control, you execute complicated settings using two instruments, the master controller and the slave controller, but with the cascade-control compatible controller (SR23), control is possible with only one controller.

In the figure, output of the reactor vessel temperature (master) is set at the target value of the cold water (slave), and the slave control output opens and closes the cold water valve, enabling cascade control which cools the reactor vessel.
